- Betting any (all) rank/s with a factor mark (<<<<) at odds 8/5 to 19/1 yielded a break-even ROI of .99% and a hit percentage of 40% (these are overall numbers – regardless of whether or not it was also a win-bet choice).
If the minimum acceptable odds is raised to 7-2 the numbers became ROI 1.15 hit percentage still 40%
- The Index 4th ranked horse is often a question mark during bet decision time. Below are some extremely interesting figures (to date).
If the 4th ranked runner also has a factor mark (of any type) and is off at . . .7-2 to 19-1 5-1 to 19-1 cnt 81 58 hit 13 10 hit % 0.16 0.17 in: 162 116 out 220.4 191 ROI 1.36 1.65
- If an Index horse is going off at less than 8-5 and there either no, or only one other horse with factor marks – then adding a wager on the next highest ranked horse that is going off at min. 7-2 and is not up in odds is showing a good profit. Example:
2/18/2021 | FG | 5 | 8 | D | 4 | Cold Hearted Wench | 2.5 | 0.8 | < | < | < | <
7 | Miss Commish | 4.5 | 5 | $4.8
5 | Summer Express | 12 | 14 | |||||||||||
8 | Orb’s Soul | 4 | 3.5 | $9 | $4.2 |
In this – the 5th at Fg , the top horse Cold Hearted Wench was off at odds-on and had all the factor marks. Only one other Index horse, Orb’s Soul, was down from its morning line odds of 4-1, and it was also at the 7-2 min. A wager could have been made on that one. The numbers on these so far:
